Houston Bike Racks Program

 

Did you know that there are over 500 miles of bike trails, bike lanes and shared lanes in the city? To support bicycling access, safety and physical activity, Go Healthy Houston in partnership with the City of Houston is distributing free bike racks to eligible applicants located within Houston city limits.

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS

Public Right of Way Requests:

  • Management Districts
  • Super Neighborhoods
  • TIRZ with standing Maintenance Agreement with City of Houston
Private Property Requests:

  • Business Owner/Commercial Property
  • Owner
  • Civic Associations
  • Community-based Organizations
  • Worksites

Installation assistance is free in selected Public Right of Way locations

Note to private citizens: installation is free only if the request is through the Houston Bike Racks program or a city department. Otherwise there is $75 application fee. Please contact the Department of Public Works and Engineering for more details.
