Joining forces to promote tobacco cessation resources and smoke-free environments
The public health community is joining forces this fall to celebrate the hallmark 10 year passing of City of Houston No Smoking Ordinance 2006-1054. This comprehensive revision of the City of Houston Smoking Ordinance prohibits smoking in enclosed public spaces, enclosed workplaces, building entrances and selected outdoor areas and public facilities. The ordinance is momentous for our city as it uses policy to create safe and healthy environments for Houstonians.
In the month of November, we will celebrate the successes of the ordinance, raise awareness of smoke and tobacco-free environments and promote cessation resources to help smokers quit. Please join us in our effort to launch a two week social media campaign ending in a community wide support of the observance of the Great American Smoke Out® on November 17th, 2016.
We thank you for your interest in receiving materials to support your tobacco-free efforts.
