There are a variety of things you can do to stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic even if you catch the virus. The CDC advises individuals how to manage COVID-19 at home and the time frame you can be around others once recovered. Additional ways to slow the spread include disinfecting your home often and wearing gloves after caring for someone who had COVID-19. How the COVID-19 virus is transmitted

 The COVID-19 virus spreads mainly between people in close contact with each other. It spreads most easily in crowded settings, closed spaces with poor ventilation or through prolonged contact with an infected person.

February: Health Health Month and Hypertension

On Valentine's day 2022 love is in the air but love for heart health!  


 Health Educator for the Office of Chronic Disease Health Education and Wellness, Patricia, lead the way with a livestream to talk about the importance of knowing your heart and hypertension, a personal topic to her.  She is joined by Doris, a Senior Public Health Educator for the DAWN program who speaks about hypertension from the view of a Diabetes Health Educator. We are also joined by Christina who shares some words on how hypertension has affected her and her family personally.
